Polska till Ida och Robert (Polska to Ida and Robert)
In 2018 my cousin got married. Following the tradition of giving away a tune to the bridal couple, I wrote them a polska in three parts. This arrangement for vibraphone and marimba was premiered by Elias Gustafsson and Rasmus Jönsson Hansson as the winning entry of Italy PAS Percussive Arts Web Contest 2020.
Från stoff (From Dust)
In Från stoff, something reminiscent of the Irish slide style is slowed down to the scale of stars and planets, frozen in my mind. This is the only tune in the suite that isn't strongly rooted in any traditional style. To me, it's like a dance between the stars from the depths of which matter emerged, that live on in all we see around us and all we feel inside.
Linden (The Linden Tree)
Linden was written on a very special instrument, sculpted from a linden tree on my parents' land. The tree fell many years ago and my father took care of it, cutting it into thick planks and leaving them to dry. In the summer of 2020, I spent a few weeks in my parents' wood workshop sculpting the body of a new musical instrument. The wooden shell became the neod, a microtonal instrument dividing the octave into 53 (or sometimes 159) equal parts, and this melody is the first one written on the instrument, dedicated to the tree that gave it life.
Möbius vals (Möbius' waltz)
This particular waltz adds some flourish by engaging in the old game of hiding the beats from the dancers. In the end, it all evens out, and a confident dancer can keep the waltz going throughout. Like a Möbius strip, it twists around itself until we're back where we started.
Passagepolskan (Passage Polska)
A liminal polska, on the edge of losing both key and time signature in an elated otherworldly dance. Joyful and exuberant triplet subdivision. Let the notes fly off the instrument!

Buying the sheet music grants you a license to print whatever copies necessary for two performers/one duo to play and study the work at a time. Performance licenses are available through your local performance rights association or STIM. You may not resell the sheet music.
